senior adults
At Walnut Memorial Baptist Church, we believe that we exist to connect every generation to Christ, Others, and Service. Those generations certainly include Silent, Gen X and Boomers, our Senior Adults. We believe these group of people are worthy and loved by Jesus. As such, our Senior Adult ministry exists to help seniors to connect to Christ, to each other in fellowship, and in various means of service for others.
We fulfill this by:
- Having regular Bible study groups to help each other grow in Christ.
- Meeting as a group and participating in events on a regular basis to encourage each other and to support each other.
So far this year, we as Senior Adults have:
Had monthly lunches and devotions.
Visited the Patton Museum in Ft. Knox and had lunch.
Attended and participated in the Boomer and Senior Adult Celebration at First Baptist, Dawson Springs.
Attended a Bowling Green Hot Rods game.
Celebrated Valentine’s Day with a dinner and comedy show at a local restaurant.
Invited AARP to present a Fraud Awareness Day.
Our plans are to continue to organize as a group and to have regular events every month like dinner theatre, game nights, and fun events as well as new Bible study programs.
In all things we do, we will continue to ensure that the goal is to help each other to connect to Christ and grow in Him.
